ABOUT AROMATOUCH TECHNIQUE
Different factors that we face in our daily life can have an impact on our overall well-being. When dealing with a child who needs individual care, a friend frustrated with school, a spouse with stress from work, or a teenager worn out from sporting practice, the AromaTouch Technique can help. The specific oils used in combination with human touch provide multiple benefits. No matter what situation comes, you can feel empowered knowing there will always be the AromaTouch Technique.
AromaTouch is a very specific technique developed by Dr. Hill, which uses 8 specific essential oil singles and blends to achieve a state of homeostasis, a balance between “being stressed” and “being passive”. Homeostasis is a flexible concept, which enables us to jump into the action required when something happens, and to then jump back to a balanced and centered state.
Many of us live in what can be described as a “negative circle,” that we seem inherently pushed into by our society and lifestyle. When we are stressed, the immune system destabilizes and one of two things happen, either we seem to be sick all the time, or we never get sick until a period of time when the body can relax (such as the end of midterms, a holiday break, following the completion of a big project at work, the end of the big birthday party you’ve been planning for your kids, etc.) at which point we become sick immediately. When the body is unwell, there is an inflammatory response which compounds many of the original issues. Sleep is often compromised as well, making us more irritable and worsening the cycle.
The AromaTouch treatment enters to break this vicious circle with doTERRA’s Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils.
With the first two oils used in the technique, Lavender and Balance, we harmonize the body and alleviate stress.
With the next two, Melaleuca (“tea tree”) and OnGuard, we help strengthen the immune system.
The following two blends, AromaTouch and DeepBlue, help regulate the inflammatory response of the body.
With the final oils, Wild Orange and Peppermint, the body can enter a state of “homeostasis”, that is, when we encounter a problem or danger we can react efficiently, but then quickly return to our center without experiencing a prolonged stress effect.
During this certification training you’ll receive a strong foundational understanding of the technique, the specific oils chosen and how they work, and how to apply the technique. After the lunch break, in groups of 3 (a receiver, a giver and a helper) you will have the opportunity to practice the technique, which involves applying the oils to the back, ears and feet. You will also learn the AromaTouch Hand Technique.
AromaTouch is not a massage, hence the name “AromaTouch Technique” (abbreviated ATT). That is, the touch that one applies is very light, more like a caress, and not a “kneading out the knots” as in a typical massage. This makes it very simple for the individual administering the technique. The essential oils in ATT are applied to the back, head, ears and feet. The treatment is approximately 45 minutes.
While this technique is gentle, it is still incredibly effective for the receiver, who may feel a stir or release of emotions, and in whom a healing process (physical and/or emotional) can begin.
This technique is incredibly powerful for children, for whom physical touch is often a love language. When we can connect with our children in this way, we help to cement a bond of love and trust. For young children, in particular, who seem to experience a wide range of emotions that often stymie their parents (what toddler mama doesn't know what I’m talking about?) this technique can help your littles to feel loved, safe, validated, and secure
